United States — Young Americans for Liberty (YAL), the prominent student activism movement dedicated to advancing liberty on campus and in American electoral politics, has announced Malik Awan as the organization’s new Virginia State Recruitment Director.
With YAL being active on nearly 400 American college and university campuses, representing thousands of students, Awan’s appointment is expected to be a key factor in further expanding the organization’s reach and impact in Virginia. As State Recruitment Director, Awan will be responsible for establishing new chapters on high school and college campuses across the state and promoting YAL’s message of liberty and freedom.
“Malik Awan is an outstanding leader with a proven track record of advancing the principles of liberty and individual freedom on his campus,” said the Mid-Atlantic Regional Director of Young Americans for Liberty. “We are thrilled to have him join our team as Virginia State Recruitment Director, and we are confident that his passion, dedication, and experience will help us grow and advance our mission in Virginia.”
Awan, who is a student at American University, has been involved with YAL since 2019, serving as the chapter president and leading efforts to promote libertarian principles on his campus. In addition to his work with YAL, Awan is also a member of the university’s debate team and a writer for the school’s newspaper.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to serve as YAL’s Virginia State Recruitment Director,” said Awan. “As a student activist and leader, I have seen firsthand the power of YAL’s message and the impact it can have on young people across America. I am excited to work with other like-minded students to spread this message across Virginia and to help more young people stand up for individual rights and free markets.”
YAL’s leadership has expressed confidence that Awan’s appointment will be a significant step forward in achieving the organization’s goals for growth and impact in Virginia. The announcement comes as YAL continues to gain momentum in its efforts to promote liberty and individual rights on college and university campuses across the United States.
